Interships

Overview
This agreement is entered into by the student, UAF faculty internship coordinator, and on-site supervisor at the internship workplace. It outlines what is expected of the student intern, the role of the on-site supervisor, and support provided by the UAF faculty advisor. Normally, students are expected to be in the internship setting for at least 120 hours each semester (approximately eight hours per week).

Responsibilities of Student Intern:
The student agrees to draft a 2-3 page internship plan for approval by the faculty internship coordinator and on-site supervisor. The plan will specify the tasks to be accomplished, products to be developed, a timeline for project completion (including a midterm evaluation), and the participating agency’s expectations (work hours, policies, standards). The plan should be agreed to no later than the first week of the internship.
