Individualized Study

Rural Development Seminar in Sitka 1999
BA Individualized Study Courses

As a student in the Applied Field-Based Program, you also have the option of using prior learning or individualized study as a means of fulfilling your required RD core or elective courses, either in part or in full. This approach can be used in conjunction with internships, mentorships, on-the-job training, and participation in appropriate workshops and seminars.

This approach is even more flexible than the CPL process above because you can use prior learning to fulfill specific course objectives that you have already mastered and then turn your attention to those where additional work is needed. As with the CPL process, individualized study is linked to specific RD courses listed in the UAF catalog.
