The College of Rural and Community Development offers distance delivered degrees in the field of early childhood education. Our program is designed for new and practicing early childhood professionals in rural and urban communities throughout Alaska who wish to advance their professional knowledge and career opportunities. Students are provided a solid foundation in child development and the necessary tools for those seeking a highly satisfying career nurturing young children.
The mission of the Child Development and Family Studies program is to provide necessary preparation for early childhood educators who wish to advance their professional knowledge and career opportunities with specialized study in:

- Family Support
The goal of this cross-regionally delivered program is to support both rural and urban students through flexible course delivery methods. Though not a mandatory step for completion, it was designed to easily extend on the Early Childhood Education AAS degree.
