A New and Improved HR
For all who have interest in a new, improved Human Resources operation-get ready, we are about to get started. You may have already heard that our new HR transition leader, John Duhamel, is on board. After a brief orientation, he will begin the redesign process.
Together with statewide, UAF plans to establish small teams to evaluate current HR processes and identify those most in need of help or that have the most problems. We will create a short list of the top priority processes, get it approved through our advisory group, and with the help of our consultants, get down to the rewarding work of redesign. This is the fun part, where after some training you actually get to lay out a new process. Our goal for every process will be great service to customers, while keeping ourselves honest so we stay within rules and the law, in the fewest and easiest steps possible. Not so sure that sounds like fun? I think you will be surprised.
Our redesigned HR Website is up. You can access it at www.alaska.edu/hr/ where you will find opportunities to provide ideas, comments and suggestions, or you can read the most recent announcements or review new processes as they are created. Currently suggestions come as e-mail, but we're setting up a web form so comments can be sent without a name attached.
We think you will find these changes will result in a more effective and efficient HR function.
