for your informationThe UA Board of Regents has approved a 1.5 percent pay raise for non-exempt and exempt staff as recommended by President Hamilton to take effect July 1. In other action at its June meeting, the Board approved a new bachelor of arts degree in elementary education for UAA, UAF and UAS, and approved the continued investigation of acquiring the old Fairbanks Courthouse and parking facility for the expansion of the Tanana Valley Campus. UAF Emeriti Professors Richard Pierce and Lydia Black, recently received the Order of Friendship from the Russian Consul General. The UA Museum was recently presented with the latest donation from the third grade of Denali Elementary School. The $2,082 donation, raised through the school's annual boxed lunch fundraiser, will be added to Denali's previous gift of $832 to help furnish and equip the Education Center in the museum expansion. Funding for the expansion was recently completed through an $8 million legislative appropriation. UAF is now part of a Federal Aviation Center of Excellence that includes four other universities.
