The GI’s unmanned aircraft system undertook three test flights over Puget Sound, Wash., in October. The UAS was launched from the NOAA ship Oscar Dyson to demonstrate its ability to collect data in remote locations. NOAA scientists hope to use the UAS to study ice-associated seals in the Bering Sea in spring 2009.

Alaska Nanook women’s basketball takes on Georgian Court College Friday, Nov. 14 and Alumni Saturday, Nov. 15. Both games take place at 7 p.m. in the Patty Center gym.
