UAF Clearinghouse

The program will help build the capacity of people to better understand and participate in educational issues related to their life ways. The network continually being expanded between partners in support of the project will have far reaching synergistic impacts on communities served by the five regional extended campuses. The University of Alaska-Fairbanks 'Science Education Clearinghouse' is being created to serve researchers, students, teachers, and the community about science education outreach and has been one very notable product of the USDA Higher Education project. It represents a significant change of attitude, a willingness of formerly independent entities to come together to create a centralized, comprehensive list of UAF science education outreach opportunities for use by the public. This new group will be one of the living legacies of the project and will very likely continue to expand as an example of 'engagement' and outreach to rural communities.
