Ms. Rheba Dupras
Associate Professor of Library Science, Emerita
Ms. Rheba Dupras has served the University of Alaska Fairbanks with distinction in teaching, research and public service from 1981 to 2010.
She is a tireless detective who takes a creative approach to solving tough questions and has helped literally thousands of students and faculty research the literature of their fields and find information; has benefited countless students through teaching in the classroom and on the web, as well as delivering course-related library and research instruction for many different courses.
She has been an active and enthusiastic force in improving essential library services, providing leadership in the transition of library services during an era of unprecedented change from print materials to electronic services, and proving invaluable in moving the Elmer E. Rasmuson Library into the digital age.
Her exceptional services extend outside the physical walls of the University, as she has worked tirelessly to bring reference and library services to rural Alaska; and collaborated with libraries in Alaska and the Pacific Northwest on cooperative endeavors in consortial purchasing, virtual reference and document delivery.
The University of Alaska Fairbanks expresses its deep appreciation to Ms. Rheba Dupras for her contributions to the State of Alaska and the University.
