Professor of English, Emeritus
Dr. Joseph A. Dupras has served the University of Alaska Fairbanks with distinction in teaching, research and public service from 1979 to 2010.
He has left an indelible impression upon an entire generation of English Department alumni, both undergraduate and graduate; and has through his academic rigor and intellectual energy earned the respect and admiration of his students, who learned from him to apply their own intellectual skills to pursuits greater than the mere picking up of learning’s crumbs; and was recognized for his work with the College of Liberal Arts Excellence in Teaching Award four times, as well as numerous other awards.

The University of Alaska Fairbanks expresses its deep appreciation to Dr. Joseph A. Dupras for his contributions to the State of Alaska and the University.
