CASE (Changing Alaska Science Education) GK-12 program
Are you interested in hosting a scientist in your classroom? The CASE GK-12 program brings science graduate students into K-12 classrooms for ~10 hours per week (5 hours in each clasroom if two teachers share a fellow) over the course of the school year. Graduate fellows partner with teachers to teach scientific methods and concepts in many climate-science related areas, such as plant and animal adaptations, genetics, invasive species, global change, and others. We encourage teachers with a range of science expertise to apply, from novice to expert. A stipend is provided.
Information sessions will be held in March. We will be accepting teacher applications for the 2013-2014 school year starting March 1, 2013. Completed applications should be submitted to Tiffany DeRuyter (firstname.lastname@example.org) no later than 5 PM, Friday, April 12, 2013.
