American Institute of Steel Construction and American Society of Civil Engineers
We were 2003 Pacific Northwest Regional Champions &
Sixth at the Nationals

Each year the American Institute of Steel Construction sponsors a bridge building competition for colleges across the nation. Entries are judged on lightness, time of construction, economy, deflection and aesthetics. Hundreds of hours go into the design and machining of the bridges, while students gain insight on innovation, teamwork, and sometimes failure.
The
University of Alaska Fairbanks has a reputation for success in this competition,
and we look forward to competing every year. Following are links to the
bridges we have had in the past, as well as this year's bridge.
