The 1993 bridge won the National comptition, placing first in the following categories:

Joe Becia was the designer of the 1993 bridge which advanced the level of competition and set today's standards for the event. Quality construction was emphasied along with design which is clearly seen in the photo of this one connection.
The image to the right shows the bridge as it is tested for deflection during loading. The load consists of 2500 pounds of angle iron.
