UAF Chukchi Campus has been a pioneer in the use of live Internet software such as Elluminate Live. UAF Chukchi Campus is also the only UA campus to offer Iñupiaq courses via distance education.
Thanks to a Title III federal grant, UAF Chukchi Campus has partnered with NANA to offer student support personnel in every village in the NANA Region. These NANA Resource Tech Specialists support all of the residents in the region to successfully access higher educational opportunities, no matter which campus or university they choose to attend.

Chukchi was one of the first rural campuses to celebrate the graduation of local LPN and RN graduates. Mary Viveiros and Susan Schaeffer-Beck were able to remain in the NANA Region with the support of their extended families and earn their degrees. They are currently employed at the Maniilaq Health Center and are working towards their degrees in Administration.
