Randy Apodaca
Randy Apodaca is a Ph.D. candidate in the Environmental Chemistry program. Randy’s research is focused on high-latitude processes that govern nitrogen oxide removal from the cold nighttime atmosphere. As part of his thesis work Randy has developed NO3 and N2O5 field instruments based on a novel optical technique called off-axis cavity ring-down spectroscopy (oa-CRDS). Randy has successfully deployed the field instruments for campaigns in locations such us Fairbanks Alaska, Boulder Colorado, and Jülich Germany.
