- Your Health Center Fee ($95/semester) - why you pay it and what it covers
- The regular UAF Student Health Insurance Policy ($945/annual and $352/semester) - who must buy it and what it covers
- What's the difference between the two fees - please read on!
Your Health Center Fee ($95/semester currently) provides you with access to services at the Center for Health and Counseling. Once you've paid that fee, you're eligible for services. The Health Center Fee is different from the Student Health Insurance Plan - for information about insurance in general and the UAF student insurance plan in particular, see information below and also go to our Insurance Information page.
Your Health Center Fee covers the following services:The Center provides the following services at very low cost:- Medical diagnostic laboratory services
- Medications we carry for re-sale to students (e.g. anti-biotics and a variety of birth control pills)
- Counseling sessions beyond 4 sessions per year (currently $10/session)
- Psychological diagnostic tests
Health Insurance is needed to help pay for medical care you may need off campus. UAF requires students to carry health insurance and it also makes good sense. Go to UAF Catalog and see section under Fees Associated with Registration
