About Parent Concerns
Students can obtain vaccinations here at the Health Center after they arrive. We offer PPDs, MMR, tetanus, Meningitis and HPV if they need them.

August 7 , 2013 – Purified Protein Derivative (PPD) Status Update – Alaska Nationwide PPD shortage
Due to the national shortage of PPD's, the Student Health and Counseling Center will administer PPD's on a first come, first serve basis until we exhaust our supply. It is unknown when we will receive more due to the current order we placed, being on backorder.
If you are in need of a PPD, please call 474-7043 to check on our supply.
IMPORTANT FOR PARENTS IN REGARDS TO THEIR STUDENT'S MEDICAL RECORDS
The FERPA consent form that parents sign at the Business Office to have access to student records IS NOT a medical consent form which is required by federal law. The HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) of 1996, requires us to protect personal health information. Students 18 years of age and older must fill out a MEDICAL consent for release of information form at the Student Health and Counseling Center in order for our staff to communicate with parents. This form is necessary for our Health and Counseling Center to have on file if your student needs you to have access to their medical information or for our professional staff to discuss medical information with a parent.

Student Health insurance policy information for the new academic year is available at the listed site below.
Students should be prepared to show proof of insurance if asked by the Bursur's Office. The only insurance Student Health files is the school's student insurance plan.
