UAF faculty and staff have been longtime supporters of the United Way. As one of the largest employers in the area, UAF’s participation in the annual United Way campaign is critically important to our neighbors. UAF’s support of the United Way demonstrates our commitment to the community.  

So far, the UAF community has raised $48,350.86 through more than 200 pledges. I would like to thank the University Fire Department for being the department with the highest participation rates so far.

Last year we raised more than $69,000 through 198 pledges and we’re on track to exceeding that this year. We’re heading in to the final week of the campaign here at UAF and your help is needed more than ever.

• Encourage your fellow employees to contribute. Stress the importance of their donation to the United Way and to the Fairbanks community.
   
• Consider a payroll deduction. This option can make donating much easier. You simply fill out the pledge form and return it to HR via the department’s PPA.

The most important thing you can do is participate. It’s not important how much it is, just that a contribution is made. Whatever the amount, it will make a huge difference to a community member in need.
