Shosaku Kanamori climbs toward the 17,000-foot camp on the west buttress of Mount McKinley. Kanamori was part of a UAF International Arctic Research Center team that installed a weather station in 2004 to measure temperature, relative humidity, barometric pressure and wind speed from an outcrop just above Mount McKinley’s Denali Pass, at an elevation of nearly 19,000 feet.
