Available Online Only. The far north is now experiencing some of the most rapid and severe climate change on earth. In the last century, average annual temperatures in the Arctic have increased at almost twice the rate as the rest of the planet. This publication offers a general look at climate change projections and potential impacts for the state as a whole. It includes maps based on SNAP temperature and precipitation projections and charts listing potential impacts to the air, ice, water, soils, vegetation, wildlife and human communities.
