+    A plus gives results that contain both terms. Example: if you want to find publications on food preservation you can type food +preservation into the search box.

-     A minus excludes related terms. Example: to find info on all livestock but sheep, type livestock –sheep (keep the symbol right next to the word you want to exclude).

" "   Use quotation marks to find a phrase exactly as you have typed it. If you know at least a partial title, use quotes. Example: You can type in “16 steps” and go right to it.
