2012 Annual Symposium – April 25, 2012 – Fairbanks

The Alaska Northern Forest Cooperative (ANFC) cordially invites your participation at our annual symposium from 1–5 p.m. on April 25, 2012. We will be meeting on the University of Alaska Fairbanks campus in IARC Room 401 of the Akasofu Building.

The symposium’s theme is "Understanding and meeting biomass demand in Alaska." There is no registration fee to attend, but we are requesting you RSVP with the ANFC registration form linked below. Afterwards, we are hosting a reception from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Binkley Room at Pike’s Waterfront Lodge. During the meeting we will be considering the proposed revisions to the ANFC charter, and electing co-chairs.

Please note that ANFC is helping sponsor the 2012 Alaska Society of American Foresters meeting that runs from April 26-28, 2012 at Pike’s Waterfront Lodge in Fairbanks. The SAF meeting requires a separate registration. For information on the 2012 SAF meeting contact Jeremy Douse at 907-452-8251 ext 3374 or by e-mail at jeremy.douse@tananachiefs.org.

ANFC Project Summary Document - Third Edition
For those of you who are unfamiliar with this document, it is a compilation of research and monitoring projects, databases, and other activities related to management of Alaska's boreal forests. Linked below are the project summary template, a key word list, and the second edition of the project summary document.

Please use the project summary template to summarize new projects you have been involved in. Please distribute this information to others who may be interested. Feel free to contact Bob Ott with any questions. Thank you.

  • If no changes are needed to a project summary that was included in the last edition of the report, no action is necessary. The project summary will remain in the new edition.
  • If only the status of a project already contained in the project summary document has changed (e.g. from ongoing to completed), please let me know so that I can update your project. However, you do not need to complete a new project summary form to update a listed project, just let me know through an email, but please include the title of the project.
  • If modifications need to be made to project summaries that were included in the last edition of the report, please submit your edits by using Track Changes in Microsoft Word.
