StrongWomen is a strength-training program from Tufts University that is designed specifically for midlife and older women. The name StrongWomen should not frighten anyone away from this class -- the class is appropriate for anyone who wishes to increase muscle mass and bone density with easy, slow paced exercise.
Participants will quickly see increases in strength and enjoy the support of others in this non-competitive fitness class.

Pressure Canner Gauge Testing
This is a free service provided to test pressure canner gauges for accuracy. Drop the gauge off at our office between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Testing is generally completed within ten minutes.

Canning Fish Safely
Canning is a popular method to preserve fish; and, with proper processing, home-canned fish can be both high quality and safe to eat. Extension publications can show you how to prepare and process fish using pressure canner temperatures that will destroy the bacteria that cause foodborne illness.
These publications also gives answers to questions frequently asked, such as, "Is it safe to process fish in a boiling water canner?" (No. It is not safe.) "Is it safe to leave salt out of canned fish? (Yes. Add an amount suitable to your taste.) "Can previously frozen fish be canned? (Yes. Frozen fish can be canned. Thaw to refrigerator temperature first.)
