Your participation will ensure a successful meeting and provide valuable information to individuals and communities interested in learning more about biomass utilization in Alaska.

Weather information for Ketchikan can be found at the link on the left side menu also. Like many parts of Alaska, Ketchikan weather can be unpredictable, so come prepared.
Conference lodging will be at the Best Western Landing at 3434 Tongass Avenue near the ferry terminals and approximately 2.6 miles (10 minute drive) to the Ted Ferry Civic Center at 888 Venetia Avenue, above downtown Ketchikan. Public transportation and a hotel shuttle operate between the Civic Center and the hotel.
Rooms at the special conference rate are limited, so please confirm your reservation as soon as possible. Other hotels are also available at their regular rates. Information on available lodging can be found on the left side menu of this page.
The Best Western Landing offers free shuttle service between the ferry terminals for their guests. To ensure that a shuttle will be available when you arrive, contact the hotel with your arrival information. Transportation will be provided between the Best Western Landing daily to and from the Ted Ferry Civic Center.
Shuttles will be available on Thursday at the end of the conference to transport people back to the ferry terminals. Note – these shuttles will leave directly from the Ted Ferry Civic Center immediately following the close of the conference, be sure to bring your luggage with you that morning. We will provide a secure location for your personal items until you are ready to leave.
Traveling to rural Alaska can be challenging, and it is not uncommon for flights to be delayed or even cancelled. This is beyond our control of course, but should your travel be interrupted, you get stuck somewhere or are just not able to arrive at your scheduled time, please contact Meg Burgett at 907-315-9339 (cell) or Bob Gorman 907-529-4330 (cell).

All presentations will be pre-loaded on to laptops in each room prior to your presentation. Participants will also receive a thumb drive with all presentations in their registration packets.
If you would like to hand out paper copies of your presentation, you are responsible for providing copies and distribution. Contact Meg at the email address above before the conference date for an estimate of copies needed.

If you require assistance with travel expenses, contact Karen Petersen at firstname.lastname@example.org prior to September 13, 2012. We will be collecting and prioritizing travel expenses as they are received. We hope to be able to assist as many speakers as possible depending on conference sponsorships and expenses.
Travel requests received after September 13 will not be eligible for assistance from the conference.
Presenters are offered a reduced registration rate of $125, which will include breakfast, lunch and evening events for both days of the conference. Please following the registration link on this page and register as a presenter.
