| Description:
Russian knapweed is a perennial that reproduces from seed or creeping black
roots. Multiple stems are branched, with lobed leaves below and smoother-edged
leaves up the stem. Flower heads are pink to light purple, and are cone-shaped.
Russian knapweed is native to Eurasia. Control: Perennial plants require depletion of nutrient reserves in the root system, prevention of seed production and prevention of dispersal. The roots should not be broken up. Individual root pieces may produce new plants. |
