Alaska 4-H

Welcome to Alaska State 4-H

Ever wanted to train a guide dog, make a kuspuk, raise a reindeer or learn Japanese drumming?

If so, then you have come to the right place. These and other opportunities are there for members of Alaska's 4-H programs. Sponsored jointly by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Cooperative Extension Service, Alaska 4-H is the educational youth development program of the University of Alaska Fairbanks.

Led by adult volunteers, with assistance from Extension 4-H Youth Development agents, local 4-H clubs are part of the national 4-H system and can draw upon those resources as well as those offered by the University of Alaska and other public and private sector agencies and businesses. While local 4-H clubs are founded according to national guidelines and united by the 4-H mission, they are led by adult volunteers who develop programs that fit youth interests and needs. Club activities are limited only by imagination.

On these web pages you will find what you need to start a 4-H club or participate in an existing one, as well as  information on current and past 4-H Youth Development activities and links to resources helpful for parents and youth. We update these pages regularly so check back frequently.

Whether a youth or an adult looking for new experiences and opportunities, 4-H may be for you.
