The Office of Equal Opportunity develops, implements and directs the Equal Opportunity (EO), Affirmative Action (AAP) and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance activities for employees at UAF. This office investigates informal and formal complaints of discrimination and conducts training on Equal Opportunity related topics. This office works closely with administrators, deans, supervisors and employees to find effective informal ways to resolve issues through mediation, facilitation and other conflict resolution techniques. This office also reviews recruitment and hiring processes for benefited positions to ensure compliance with federal, state and Board of Regents policies and regulations.
