Environmental Quality Engineering and Environmental Quality Science

College of Science, Engineering and Mathematics
Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering
(907) 474-6129

Degree: M.S.

Minimum Requirements for Degree: 30-31 credits

The environmental quality engineering and environmental quality science programs are designed for graduate engineers and science majors. The program provides broad study of the environment, prevention and abatement of quality deterioration, and solutions to environmental problems.

Career opportunities include water supply, treatment and distribution, waste treatment, stream and air pollution, solid waste disposal, hazardous and toxic waste management, and environmental impact evaluation. Graduates are prepared to hold positions in federal, state and municipal organizations as well as in consulting engineering offices.

For students having non-engineering degrees, a program is available leading to the M.S. degree in environmental quality science.
