This program develops entry-level skills in industrial safety, health and environmental awareness. Courses combine the technical know-how, use of state-of-the-art equipment and hands-on experience necessary for students to obtain work in a variety of safety-related industrial fields.

Students are taught the necessary objectives and skills required to take an entry-level Associate Safety Professional Exam when coupled with other requirements as set forth by the Board of Certification. Graduates are sought after by industry partners to fill entry-level positions throughout the state. Positions include, but are not limited to, safety professionals in construction trades, risk management, insurance safety investigators and entry level OSHA positions.

As the process industries expand and automate, the need for qualified safety technicians increases. This need is currently being addressed by the American Society of Safety Engineers. The Tanana Valley Campus and the Process Technology Program are active members of this national organization.
