Women’s Center

The UAF Women’s Center provides resources and support to women students, faculty, staff and women in the UAF community as they empower themselves and one another in their pursuit of individual and collective goals. The center strives to create an atmosphere in which all people are free to affirm and celebrate their differences, including but not limited to differences of gender, race, sexual orientation, class, age, religion and physical and mental ability. Additionally, the center strives to ensure that UAF fulfills its mission and goals as they relate to the education of women. In accordance with UAF’s Mission Statement and Strategic Plan, the Women’s Center exists to educate the university and the community about gender-related issues and thus enhances the possibility of fulfilling the university’s goal to establish "a culturally diverse environment that values and promotes equal treatment of sexes, races and cultural and ethnic groups” throughout our community.
