Admission to medical school and all health professions programs is very competitive and students need to prepare very carefully from the start in order to have the best chances for admission. If you have ever considered a career in healthcare make sure to be there!
Representatives from various healthcare profession programs will be present to meet with students and alumni to answer questions about educational and career opportunities.
AIMES
Alaska Interior Medical Education Summit (AIMES)
If you've heard anything about them, AIMES and the Healthcare Professions Fair sound very similar, you may be wondering which one to attend. The answer is BOTH! If you have the opportunity... While both events are for students interested in healthcare and medicine, they each provide general information in addition to their own unique opportunities.
At AIMES, Saturday, Oct. 26, students will have the opportunity to speak with professionals and experienced advisors about the future and the opportunities it holds. Small discussions allow for specific questions to be answered, but there will also be practitioner panels to cover general information and much more.
At the Healthcare Professions Fair, Thursday, Oct. 24, students will be able to meet different representatives from schools and organizations in health related fields. There will be opportunities to discuss internships, careers, training programs, etc. This is a great event for students who may be interested in other sciences in addition to medicine, because the Natural Resources, Fisheries & Sciences Job Fair will also be available at that time.
