WHAT IS A STUDENT JOB?

Definition

What does Student A, B, and C mean?

What is a Student Job?

Work that is part-time, temporary, and is located at UAF.

A student job augments a student's academic studies, gives access to valuable on-the-job training and experience, and provides financial support.

Student jobs can be up to 20 hours per week during the semesters or up to 40 hours during official break periods.

Campus employers will work with you around your academic schedule.

Students must maintain a 2.0 GPA. Waivers to number of hours worked or minimum GPA can be appealed to the Dean of Student Affairs, 514 Gruening.

What does Student A, B, and C mean?

Locally, UAF Human Resources works with UAF departments to determine what wage level matches the duties described for a student job.

This prevents over or under working of students.

Currently, the Student Assistant wage scale is:

Student Assistant A- $7.50/hr
Student Assistant B - $8.50/hr
Student Assistant C - $9.50/hr
