In collaboration with investigators at the Center for Genomics and Healthcare Equality at the University of Washington, this interdisciplinary partnership will develop a culturally meaningful communications strategy for different types of genetic results.

Yup’ik community members, health care providers, and Yup’ik scientific co-researchers collaboratively work with CANHR and UW scientists to develop dissemination strategies for genetic research results and progress. A guide will be developed to assist CANHR scientists, other researchers, and community partners in determining an appropriate plan for communicating genetic research results, progress, and/or educational materials.
