Student Recreation Center
414 Tanana Loop
The Student Recreation Center opened in March 1994. On the first floor, three multiple-use courts provide space for badminton, tennis, volleyball, ultimate Frisbee and indoor soccer. A climbing wall, weight area and locker rooms are also on the first floor. On the second floor, a yoga/dance/aerobics area, exercise machines and more weight machines overlook the ball courts, and a running track encircles the building.
The structure provides space for intramural sports and fitness memberships for UAF students, faculty, staff, alumni and the general public. The SRC is home to the Let’s Include Fitness Everyday (L.I.F.E.) program, a wellness program for UAF faculty, students and staff. It hosts camps in summer and winter that feature recreational fitness for children ages 6-15.
UAF varsity teams also use the SRC for training activities.
