Georgeson Botanical Garden
SUMMER SPLENDOR--Visitors will find a botanical bounty of flowers and vegetables at the Georgeson Botanical Garden. Beyond the beauty of these gardens, researchers at the Alaska Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station’s Fairbanks Experiment Farm propagate, cultivate and conserve native and introduced plant species. The farm, which celebrated its centennial in 2006, houses the Reindeer Research Program and operates the botanical garden. The experiment station also operates a farm in Palmer and several off-campus research sites. At the botanical garden there are guided tours on Fridays and self-guided tours throughout the summer, May 31-Sept. 2, 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Admission to the garden is $2. Call 907-474-1944 for more information.
