Paying Tuition and Fees

Picture of a time piece.

NOTICE!!  The UAF Business Office will no longer give cash back or have checks available for pick-up during fee payment.

All tuition and fees must be paid by the fee payment deadline published in the semester class schedule. This includes room rent, meal plan costs, student activity fees, health fees and deposits. Any charges unpaid at the end of the previous semester are also due and must be paid before you can re-enroll. If you owe money to the university and submit an enrollment form and payment for the current semester, you will not be enrolled into your classes; the payment will be applied toward your debt. If the current semester payment is by check from a source other than the student, the payment will be returned to the source.

Consequences of not paying tuition and fees

If you do not pay, you will NOT be dropped from your courses. You will be responsible for all tuition and fees. The university will not initiate a drop for non-payment.

The University of Alaska Fairbanks reserves the right to drop you from classes, and to withhold transcripts, grades, and other services and housing contracts, for non-payment of financial obligations to the university. If the university takes such action, you will still be responsible for your full debt to the university. Registration may be withheld from any student who is delinquent in paying any amount due to the university. The registration process is not complete until the student has paid all fees and charges due the university.

You will not be dropped from your classes for non-payment!

Need a textbook loan?

We can offer you a Bear Bucks advance on your Polar Express card that can be used at the UAF Bookstore!

Textbook loans are available up to $250 from a cashier.

Over that amount requires an appointment and verification of financial aid.

Please bring a book list with prices to your appointment

Retire the piggy bank! It's all on line.

The University of Alaska does not send out paper bills

An electronic bill will be generated for you on the 15th of each month and made available via UAOnline. An e-mail reminder will be sent to your UA-assigned e-mail address each time a new bill is generated (every student who enrolls in UAF classes has an email address. if you do not know your UA generated address, we can help!). A link on the UAOnline Statement and Payment History page will take you to the page where you can pay with a credit card or electronic check. To view your electronic bill, go to UAOnline and choose Student from the main menu, then Student Account, then Statement and Payment History.

Contact the Business Office at (907) 474-7384 Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Alaska Time, or you may email us.
