2nd Annual Alaska Book Festival

Held in June, 2008, the 2nd Annual Alaska Book Festival hosted more than 20 prominent artists in Fairbanks —featuring the likes of fish illustrator and musician, Ray Troll, and author Peggy Shumaker sharing their thoughts and expertise on interpreting and conveying the awesome beauty and bounty of Alaska.

Genres included poetry, natural history, science fiction, history, mystery, cooking, and children’s literature—something for everyone.

Events were held at UAF Reichardt Natural Sciences Building, the Noel Wien Library and other venues around town—even the Howling Dog Saloon!

Special Guest Artist, Author and Musician: Ray Troll

Fish Worship Is Not Wrong, or How I Became A Scientific Surrealist Alaskan artist Ray Troll shared the twists and turns of his decidedly fishy career.
