Alaska BioPREP was awarded an administrative supplement award from the National Institutes of Health to pilot a blended cohort class called BioPREP-U. BioPREP-U was a two-week molecular biology lab course open to both high school and undergraduate students. Students participated in a two week in-person laboratory experience. Sessions were offered in 2011 at UAF and UAA. Students earned university credit upon successful completion of course requirements. While the course was successful, current BioPREP funds are dedicated to existing programs. BioPREP will consider offering BioPREP-U again in future years.
