BioPREP students to represent Alaska at 2013 Stockholm Junior Water Prize Competition
Congratulations to Chelsea Parrocha and Taylor Seitz, high school students from an Alaska BioPREP supported class at Polaris K-12 in Anchorage, AK. Their project, Potential Lateral Flow Test Design for the Detection of Paralytic Shellfish Poisoning, won the 2013 Stockholm Junior Water Prize for the state of Alaska. They will go on to compete in the national competition June 14 and 15 in Portland Oregon. See Press Release.
TIPS for Teachers course will be held June 3rd-June 7th on the University of Alaska Fairbanks campus
Congratulations to the selected applicants!
All expenses, including travel, are paid and participants will receive Professional Development credits for the class. We look forward to meeting the new class of teachers and helping to bring biotechnology to even more Alaskan classrooms.
