The UAF Bristol Bay Campus is proud to host the 2011 American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Arctic Division annual conference.  This international conference will be held September 21st to 24th, 2011 and will feature presentations from prominant speakers from around the arctic region. The Alaska Solar Tour returns to Dillingham on Saturday, October 1st at 2:00pm! 

The Alaska Solar Tour is part of the National Solar Tour which is the largest, grass-roots solar event in the world.  We will meet in the parking lot of the Bristol Bay Campus and carpool to numerous sites around Dillingham which are utilizing renewable energy and energy efficient building.  Come see how your neighbors are slashing their energy bills, creating their own energy and living more sustainably.

October is Alaska Energy Awareness Month!  Governor Parnell has issued a proclamation declaring October 2011 as Alaska Energy Efficiency Awareness Month to promote more responsible use of energy and support programs that help Alaskans become more energy efficient.  Together we can achieve Alaska's goal of becoming 15% more energy efficient by 2025.

Since January of 2010, we've been hosting a free, Sustainabiltiy Film Series.  These films focus on the wide range of sustainabilty-related subjects although occasionaly they are energy-specific.  Having a night at the movies provides the community with free entertainment and exposure to environmental education topics.  Community input and feedback on film selections is encouraged and conversations usually follow the show.  Here's a list of the films we've played so far:
