Buyback Facts:
It's really simple: You get whatever the future market will bear for your books!
If your professor is using the textbook next semester you will receive the retail amount (50% of the new price). If the textbook is not being used next semester then you will receive the wholesale amount (25-30% or less of the new price).

What this means to you:
You can get up to 50% that you paid for most books. This happens when 1) your instructor lets us know that s/he wants to reuse the book and 2) the bookstore isn't already overstocked.
These books stay here and are sold next semester as used books (75% of the regular price).

You can get up to 25-30% (or less) that you paid for most other books. These books DO NOT stay at UAF. They are packed up and shipped off to a national used book exchange company. Prices are determined by the company-NOT US.

What we can't buy: :(
Most lab manuals, study guides and other fill-in books.
Any damaged books, including water damage.
Books with missing pages.
Books that have gone to old edition status because a new edition is out (publishers determine this).
Some books that deal with very specialized topics
