Middle School ASRA

Dates: July 20-31, 2015

Who can attend? 6th-8th grade students (grade in the fall of 2015)

Cost: $700 for most modules

Middle School ASRA is an intensive, two-week DAY ONLY (housing is not provided) learning experience for students with an interest in science, technology, engineering and math. Students study one subject (module), work in small teams, and participate in project based learning in a college-like environment. Some modules take students off campus for one to two nights of camping.

Module sizes are small (usually ten students and two instructors). Our instructors are faculty, graduate students and industry professionals. There are no grades, tests or homework. Modules are designed to be fun and engaging while offering challenging content. Past module subjects include Math, Robotics, Ecology, Bacteria and bugs, and many others. Check back in January for summer 2015 module offerings.

In its 14th year, admission to ASRA is competitive. Students who apply must complete an essay, provide references and show evidence of sincere interest in participation.

"Everyone has that place or moment where they think, 'I wish I could stay here forever.' For me, that place is ASRA." - ASRA Student
