Once you are placed in an ASRA module, please make your travel plans as soon as possible. Airfares increase constantly in the summer and seats fill up quickly. It is important that you email your itinerary to Lori Gildehaus (email@example.com) so she can arrange for dorm staff to transport you to and from the airport. Call 907-474-7221 if you have any travel questions.
Students from out of town should arrive no earlier than Sunday afternoon at 3:00 pm, July 13, 2014. There no activities planned for this day. This is only an option for students from out of town who cannot arrive Monday morning due to flight schedules.
Many flights from out-of-state will arrive at 1AM on Monday, July 14th. This is not a problem and our dorm staff is available to pickup students 24 hours a day. Students will remain in the care of ASRA staff until they return to the airport for their departing flights.
Departures should be scheduled after 4PM on Friday, July 25th. Alaska Airlines flight #190 departs Fairbanks at 5:55PM that day. If necessary, students may stay overnight on Friday and depart on Saturday, July 26th no later than 12:00PM (noon).
The Fairbanks International Airport is small, and there is only one exit from the arrival area. It will be easy for students to find the ASRA staff welcoming party, as they will be wearing ASRA shirts and holding ASRA signs. The airport is located about 10 minutes from the UAF campus.
