ASRA is a two week, day program (no housing provided) from Monday through Friday (typically no weekends, although select modules may meet on Saturday, July 23rd or for the entire weekend if there is a remote component)
When and where do I drop off and pick up my child?
Drop off and Sign in: 9:00AM on main floor of the Reichardt Building at UAF
Pick up and Sign out: 5:00PM on main floor of Reichardt Building at UAF
Will there be a final presentation?
On the final day of ASRA, July 29th, students will present their work to parents and the public in a scientific forum-style presentation.
Who can apply?
For middle school modules, students entering grades 6-8 in the fall of 2016 can aply.
For high school modules, students entering grades 9-12 in the fall of 2016 can apply.
When is the Application due?
March 31, 2016
How much does it cost?
$700 for most modules (additional fees may apply for some modules)
What should I bring each day?
All students need to bring a sack lunch and appropriate clothing for spending time outside. Students should also bring mosquito repellant and sun screen. Instructors will contact students/guardians via email if they need the students in their module to bring additional items.
Can you find housing for my out-of-town student?
No. We are sorry that we cannot provide that service.
Is there a deposit?
No. In past years there was a $50 deposit, but we have eliminated that requirement. Full payment is due upon acceptance.
Can I take two modules at the same time?
Students choose one module for the entire program.
Do I get college credit?
No, we do not offer college credit for this program.
What if I can't afford to come?
Fill out the financial aid form on the application link.
Can I use the UA employee tuition waiver to pay for ASRA?
No, the tuition waiver does not cover ASRA.
