Transportation for Commuters

The commuter option is for students who live in Fairbanks, and have evening commitments outside of ASRA. They will receive lunch but they are on their own for breakfast and dinner. Unfortunately we cannot allow them to join in evening activities or visit friends in the dorms. There is space for about 20 commuters.

Driving and parking:

  • Parents drop off students at 8:45 am and pick them up at 5 pm at the Reichardt Building.
  • Students who are 16 and older may drive themselves to and from campus.
  • Weekly and daily parking passes are available at the parking kiosk behind the Reichardt building.
  • Parking can be challenging at times and parking violations on campus are strictly enforced.
  • See this link for more information on parking. UAF PARKING

Biking & walking:

  • Commuter students may walk or ride a bicycle to class.
  • Students must arrive ON TIME daily. Repeated tardiness may be grounds for dismissal from camp.
  • ASRA is not responsible for bicycles, and they may not be stored in the building.
