What is ASRA?
The Alaska Summer Research Academy (ASRA) offers engaging and in-depth experiences in science and engineering throughout the year. During the summer, ASRA offers two 2-week academies, a residential High School program, and a daytime Middle School program. We also offer a year-round Saturday program (The Saturday Thing), as well as outreach to schools across Alaska (ASRA to the Schools). ASRA is housed in the College of Natural Science and Mathematics at the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
The Alaska Summer Research Academy promotes creativity and intellectual curiosity through hands-on, open-ended experiences in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics). ASRA students engage with mentors and peers to explore scientific concepts, investigate student-driven questions, and solve problems.
