NASA Connect

Please check out this web site regarding this wonderful educational program.   NASA Connect is a series of seven 30-minute instructional programs delivered via television and the internet, that demonstrate how mathematics and science are used everyday by NASA engineers and scientists.  Each program in the series features two schools and includes a lesson guide for educators and parents containing a hands on activity and a web-based component, designed to complement and extend the lesson.

Since it will be impractical to air the series live (due to the time difference) KUAC, the Fairbanks PBS station will download the program on the day they are aired, copy it and then air it the day after the live feed at 6:30 a.m.  Teachers would then program their VCR's to capture each video and then be able to show it to their students at their convenience.  Teachers will need to register with the program in order to be able to download the curriculum materials that accompany each show.  You can register at the above listed web site, as well as get a complete schedule of the programs.
