Description

Payload Frame

The payload frame consists of 4 longerons and 5 decplates. The deckplates provide mounting area for the SRP5 electronics, and the longerons hold these deckplates in place.

Payload Tube

Outer covering of the rocket. Provides protection for the hardware inside as well as essential for adequate aerodynamic control.

Deckplates

Each aluminum deckplate provides a mounting structure for payload electronics

Nosecone

A picture of SRP 5: ISIS's nosecone

The nosecone is made of fiber glass which is RF transparent. The nosecone is what allows the rocket to glide through the area in a precise fashion

Umbilical Inteface

A picture of the Umbilical Block

The umbilical block allow access to electrical connections inside the payload tube. Prior to flight this is how we will access the systems on the rocket for pre flight testing and charging of the power systems. The shown image is of one of the umbilical blocks where the electrical wires will head back to the control station

Non-Pyro Door

A door that detaches during flight to expose certain test equipment to the appropriate environments
