Description |
|---|---|
Deckplate 1 |
Measures Gyroscopic Motion and accelerations |
Measures sunlight from UV and Sun sensors in order to determine rocket attitude |
Measure GPS data. One board on the rocket is used for in flight trajectory correction. The ground station board is used primarily for tracking the rocket and collecting locational information |
Senses ultraviolet light intensity |
The probes will be used to map the relative ion and electron densities in the D-Region of the ionosphere |
Assortment of measurement devices used to develop temperature characteristics of the payload |
Deckplate 2
Performs primary data sanitization before it is passed on to other boards for data procesing and transmission. |
The heart of the communication system on the rocket. All information from other boards meets here to be processed before transmission. Stacks multiple input streams into a single data stream and sends to the base station TMTX. |
Deckplate 3 |
The 3-axis magnetometer, fabricated by students at Tokai University, is used for attitude determination and detecing perturbations in the magnetic field caused by current systems in the plasma. |
The flight instrumentation board contains a pressure sensor, an ambient temeperature sensor, and a thermocouple for measuring payload skin temperature. |
Deckplate 4 |
The battery pack provides power for all the electrical components of the rocket. |
Deckplate 5 |
The power board converts the voltage level from the battery pack into the voltage levels required by the cicuit board used on the payload. |
Deckplate 6 |
The radio receivers in conjunction with the loop antenna will be used to determine the plasma cutoff frequency. This provides a calibation point to reference the relative measurements from the probes. |
