The Anthropological Papers of the University of Alaska focuses on research in the circumpolar north and consists of original papers on a variety of topics related to arctic or subarctic anthropology. Produced by the University of Alaska Fairbanks Department of Anthropology since 1951, APUA offers a collection of scholarly, often rare papers written by noted authorities in the field. During these past years the journal has normally appeared as two issues per volume under the direction of an editor assisted by two associate editors. Volume 25 is the last of the series that will be published in the original format.
The New Series started in Fall 2000 with a General Editor overseeing publication assisted by an expanded number of Associate Editors representing the four fields of anthropology and drawn from the anthropology faculty at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. The editors of the APUA work closely with an editorial board composed of anthropologists from the University of Alaska and elsewhere.
We welcome submissions in English on the anthropology of the Cirumpolar North as individual contributions or as organized symposia. For more information regarding submissions, please contact Ben Potter the General Editor.
