The Determination, Effort and Approach (DEA) awards are made possible through collaborations with the UAA ANSEP program.  These annual awards are accompanied with a $1000 stipend and are the result of a student vote. 

The Determination Award is generally given to a student who has demonstrated a real determination to pursue their degree through a combination of sacrifice, dillegence, and hard work.

The Effort Award is generally given to a student who has demonstrated good citizenship by helping out the community or fellow students.

The Approach Award is a testimont to a student's ability to solving technical problems.
